Band Ovenight Camp

On Saturday 3rd December most of the members from the 1st Hamrun Pipe Band gathered at the 1st Hamrun Scout Group headquarters for an overnight camp. This overnight camp was conducted for the first time in December 2010 and proved so fruitful that it was decided to repeat the camp once again this year.

Throughout the camp the marching and playing routines for the upcoming Christmas program were to be practiced, with the bandsmen being pushed hard to perform in such a short period of time. Nevertheless the commitment and perseverance of our members paid off since at 10:00am the next morning, rehearsals were over and the whole band headed over to High Street Hamrun to entertain the passing crowd participating in the President’s Charity Fun Run in aid of l-istrina.

This was a huge success and although all the band members were tired from the intensive rehearsals, it was a gratifying experience to participate in such a noble event with the cheering and clapping from the passing crowd filling the Members with the energy required to play on.

The whole weekend was a success and the Scout Group would like to thank its members and support team who’s, effort and dedication, made this success possible.

The testimony of this success will be the Annual Christmas Program being held at the 1st Hamrun Scout Group headquarters on Saturday 17th December 2011.
